NEW Editors of PRQ Announced
A Message from WPSA President Carrier Currier

The Western Political Science Association would like to announce the selection of a new team of editors for Political Research Quarterly. The new nine-member team will be led by Neil Chaturvedi, Cal Poly Pomona, as editor-in-chief. The eight associate editors bring in expertise from a broad cross-section of the political science discipline.

The team of editors was recommended by a selection committee chaired by Christopher Stout, University of California, San Diego, and approved by the WPSA Executive Council at its April meeting in San Diego. The Chaturvedi team was one of three applications that the committee reviewed before making its recommendation.

Chaturvedi will be replacing Charles ("Tony") Smith, University of California, Irvine, on July 1, 2026. The association would like to thank Tony for his four years of serve as PRQ editor-in-chief. During his tenure, Smith oversaw an expansion of the quality of the journal and in the diversity of subfields published. He also oversaw a decrease in the processing times from submission to final decision. His work has been stellar, and the association is very appreciative of all that he has done.

The other members of Chaturvedi's team are:

Daniel Brunstetter, University of California, Irvine
Kim Dionne, University of California, Riverside
Shane Gleason, Trinity College
Farah Godrej, University of California, Riverside
Tom Le, Pomona College
Peter Miller, Brennan Center for Justice
Robert Nyenhuis, Cal Poly Pomona
Erika Wolters, Oregon State

The association would also like to thank Chris Stout and the other members of the search committee:

Tony Affigne, Providence College
Nadia Brown, Georgetown University
Nathan Chan, Loyola Marymount University
Claudio Holzner, University of Utah
Alex Diones, Loyola Marymount University
James Scott, Illinois State University
Richard Clucas, WPSA Executive Director

Finally, I would personally like to thank all the applicants for the editor position. The WPSA and PRQ could not succeed without the support of individuals like you. I thank you for applying and hope to continue seeing you play an important role in the association.

Congratulations, Neil. All of us involved in the association look forward to working with you.
